Gauhati University runs the 2026 admission cycle for its undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil, PhD and diploma programmes across affiliated colleges in Assam. Admissions are conducted via a centralised online portal — applicants register, fill the form, upload required mark-sheets, category certificates and identity proof, and pay the application fee. Programme-specific entrance examinations or merit-based admission rules are described in the Information Bulletin. Counselling, choice filling and seat allotment rounds are scheduled post-results. Reservation policy follows the Assam Government norms — SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, PwD, women, defence wards and other special categories. Foreign / NRI / sponsored-quota seats are filled through a parallel channel where available.
